Second Dark Hole

[Phone;]

I must say, for the first time I've ever been part of one of these random occurences of the town deciding to be exceptionally cruel, it seems that the cruelty is coming more from the people in the town than the ones who control it. The people being of course you, whoever you are listening in on this. How many times have people said 'killing is wrong' and 'this is a clear and obvious trap' now, I'm starting to lose count. Why can't people say more cheerful things, like how nice the weather is or that half of the town isn't dead yet.

Or is half the town dead? I doubt you're keeping count, being too busy either hiding in your home or slaughtering others, claiming you did in self-defense, but really who believes you? For then record, I believe you.

Overall I give this a 4 out of 10. I expected a lot more out of a town that apparently tortures us. Really, making others do your own dirty work? Your own prisoners at that. You aren't being very gracious hosts. After I went through all the trouble of filling out that census, hoping for something more shocking. Maybe I'm just getting too old to be exceptionally horrified that people kill other people. Ground breaking news. Next time we'll learn that the color of Earth's sky is blue and that most humans have a lifespan averaged on about 70 to 80 years. Haa Haa.

Keep up in good spirits everyone, there is nothing to fear but fear itself and let me prematurely insert any empty morality filled speech here. You can fill in the blanks, right?

[Phone; Filtered to Touko Aozaki]

You said you were a seamstress once. I have a job for you and I promise upfront compensation for your efforts.

[Phone; Filtered to Charles Fei-Ong]

Good day Charles. Don't try to think how I got your number or that I know you live at 767 Bunker Street, it isn't important. What is important is that I drew you as my next target. I hope you won't be offended if I come over and kill you. Or maybe you will kill me. My omniscience isn't working as well as it should be, so nothing is really certain. Don't take it personally - your luck just didn't come out well on this particular occasion.

If you want to take it personally that's fine too.

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-02 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds more than fine. I'll make sure to call you as soon as I'm done with my next target. It should be an easy enough kill. [Thanks to his omniscience he already knows what Charles looks like. Not a very intimidating person at all either, in Scratch's eyes.]

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 09:40 am (UTC)(link)
My, you do sound busy. What's your current count, if you don't mind me asking? [This is totally a good topic.]

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-06 11:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Currently? So far two. However, the town seems to think I have killed three oddly enough.

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-06-07 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
One of your targets must have offed him or herself through some other way; that's happened to me. I have an acquaintance who's also climbing through the ranks; good luck to you both. [Though the tone pretty much indicates that she's not counting on luck for any of them.] Ah, I'll be waiting for that call. Until then, Doctor Scratch?

1/2

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I see. How lucky for me. I wish luck to your acquaintance, as a show of good sportsmanship.

I will see you then. Perhaps in my truest form.

Phone; after Charles dies

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-08 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)
[About an hour later, he will call Aozaki back.]

I'm done with my prior arrangements. Are you available?

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-06-09 09:33 am (UTC)(link)
[How classy.]

Yes, I am. Will you be coming now? I'll need some time to prepare, as I've mentioned, though I should have my things ready by the time that you arrive. Unless you now have an ability akin to teleportation?

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-11 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
I could easily be there in a second, but if you require preparation time I will gladly wait for you. I am in no rush.

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-06-12 08:57 am (UTC)(link)
10 minutes, if you're fine with taking some time. Do I need to call again, or you'll be here then?

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-14 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
I'll come to you. I'll even give you fifteen, as a sign of good courtesy.

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-06-15 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
I'd be making bad business if I took more time than how much I've originally said, Doctor, but if you're really willing to be this patient, I'll graciously receive that extra period.

Well, I should get started. See you soon?

[She'll hang up if he has nothing more to add too, and set up a... pretty detailed makeshift surgeon table in the kitchen. It's where the sink is, after all. Her meticulous attention to detail and refined work methods are what made her such a skilled and renowned puppet master, and being familiar with the human body, minor surgeries would be a cinch.

So she'll make good use of that prep time, one way or another. :|b]

[He waits exactly fifteen minutes before he decides to come over, not wanting to be late house guest to such a generous person. Well, generous in her own respect. He even does the courtesy of teleporting in front of the door and not letting himself rudely into her home without permission. So when the time comes he'll ring the door bell three times and wait.]

action;

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 10:47 am (UTC)(link)
[It only takes a few seconds before the door opens, and he's greeted by the redhead woman, the butt of a dying stub of a cigarette hanging loosely by the corner of her mouth.

She'll remove that and take it in her fingers before nodding to him in greeting.]

Good afternoon, Doctor. Right on the dot, too? Your timing is impressive, but that's just part of your code of being the perfect gentlemen, if I'm allowed to guess? [She grins, aware that exactly 15 minutes have passed since their conversation.

Remind me if he has his cueball head back :V If he does she'd glance at it but won't comment on it anyway, at least not right away... That said, she does step back and tilt her head towards the inside of the house.]
Things are set up in the kitchen. Come in.

action;

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-20 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Certainly. I never keep a lady waiting.

[Of course he has is glorious cueball headed body, it'll only be mentioned a hundred times how handsome he is like this and not like that old disgusting human guy! :)

Scratch enters without another word, taking off the white suit jacket he bought and hanging it on a nearby coat rack. Once he is done he gives a his not-eyes a cursory glance of the house, before entering the kitchen.]

Forgive me for the short notice. These wounds don't hurt nearly as much as before, but I would still like them patched to your best ability.

action;

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-06-25 12:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[She chuckles at that, and while he hangs up his coat she'll put that cig out and wash her hands, before joining him back in the kitchen.]

That's fine; I used to have tight schedules to follow. [Until she started her own line of work - feels good to go at your own pace, etc.] Interesting new physiology, I'll have to comment. Hm, but as long as your body structure hasn't deviated too much from that of a normal human's, I'll do fine. Please remove your shirt so we can begin? [A small grin, not that she's cocky or anything - but this is her field of expertise. Not a doctor, no, but for a puppeteer to make a vessel suitable to host the soul of an actual person and have it functional? She may just know the body better than even legitimate doctors in the practice.

Then

INSERT STITCHING STUFF UP IN HERE yis she may not be the best he's ever encountered but by human standards her precision and accuracy are pretty top-notch, okok. So we're then pretty much done? c:]

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-26 06:47 am (UTC)(link)
[He'll do such, revealing the bullet grazes around his body. His body, just as his head, is almost a pure white color. He rarely shows it up front this way, but what has to be done has to be done.

Once she finishes, he'll put it back on and of course straighten up his bow tie.]

Quite good work. You may even be on par with Stitches, but I doubt you could monitor the jacket of my employer as he does. Not to offend you.

action;

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-06-26 04:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[Yet the body is structured the same as that of a human's, huh? Interesting... Well she can be sneaky and underhanded sure but a business deal is nothing to sneeze at, so yes job done as professionally as she could.

Snapping the gloves off and cleaning up now.]

Why thank you, Doctor. [Chuckling.] None taken; that person probably knows you better than I do. I think that I can relate; I have a secretary working for me whose work is also irreplaceable, both in quality and execution. [Adjusting her glasses now that she's washed her hands, and ready to put them back on.] Is there anything else? I don't mean to rush you, but a man like you probably keeps a tight and precise schedule. [Sure Mayfield is usually pretty quiet, but right now? Who knows. Scratch prooobably has someone else to kill, though.]

action;

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-06-27 07:07 pm (UTC)(link)
No, nothing else really. However, I do wish to compensate you for your work. Is there anything you would like perhaps?

action;

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 01:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Very gracious of you, doctor. While I do very much appreciate the offer, I'm also a woman who likes to plan ahead and stay organized, so there isn't anything that I should, or would, need right now. [A small pause.] But I don't like to waste things either, so if you're offering...

Would asking you for an account of your experiences through all this once it's over be a reasonable request? Information and details are the most valuable things that I can compile and examine for the moment.

action;

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
It wouldn't be any trouble at all, Ms. Aozaki. The least I can do is to return the favor in some manner. A gentleman does not take handouts.

action;

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Then thank you very much for all the troubles in advance, Doctor Scratch. Would there be anything else?

action;

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-07-14 09:54 pm (UTC)(link)
No, nothing else. [He stands up, straightening his bowtie.] Should I use the door, or may I teleport out for quicker access. [He is busy you know.]

action;

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
Teleport at will; I wouldn't want to mess up your schedule. [Tapping her cig to get rid of some ash as she waves with her free hand.] See you? [No need for luck wishes. This guy probably doesn't need it.]

action;

[identity profile] cueballer.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
Very good then. Farewell, for now.

[With that a green spark comes around him and he flickers away into green.]

action;

[identity profile] puppeteerings.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
[...huh. She managed to feel a bit of that surge of power, but...

Yeah, not really stuff she's super familiar with, but she files what she managed to observe away just because. Neat trick, Doc. Neat trick.]
